A Saturday Night Experience

A Global Dance Music Movement Founded on Community, Connectivity, and Rhythm

Established in early 2021 from a simple idea — to invite people around the world to a Saturday night online party during the height of pandemic lockdowns.

Since then, Saturday Night Experience (SNE) has evolved into a thriving international community of DJs, dancers, producers, and music lovers, all united by a shared love of underground dance music.

SNE is curated by a core collective, and we’re all about creating a safe space where timeless sounds, soulful selections and human connection drive the dancefloor, both online and in real life.

The Journey so far

  • February 2021: A Saturday Night Experience (SNE) launches with a 12-hour online party featuring 6 DJs performing live on Twitch.tv. The mission: Connection, community, and a dope evening of soulful, deep and classic house
  • Mid 2021: SNE becomes a weekly fixture on Twitch.tv, evolving into a consistent event for music lovers and selectors who dig house music, disco, funk and soul.
  • 2021–2024: Over 150 Saturday night streams later, SNE continues to welcome DJs from around the world each week — showcasing a vibrant mix of sounds from seasoned selectors like David Harness, Kai Alce, Frankie Feliciano, Dez Andrés, and Kevin Hedge, to emerging talents such as Coflo, Juliet Mendoza, Floyd Vader, Portia and Nina Sol.
  • March 2023: Collective head to New York for a planned first NYC gathering albeit the event space got cancelled, but it opened up the idea of IRL events that would soon spark a number of partnerships.
  • October 2023: SNE organises their first ADE Experience alongside Amsterdam team member Oriabela and her ConneQting.The.Dots platform to host their first collaborative showcase at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).
  • June 2024: SNE partners with Goodbeat! in Toronto for the first combined SNE X Goodbeat! Weekender, where we organised three days of music, connection, and community in the Canadian music city and invited local DJs and some guests from the community to come out and play.
  • October 2024: SNE returns to ADE for a second showcase alongside Oria (ConneQting.The.Dots) and the newly founded Lost in the Rhythm imprint for three days of parties and interviews.
  • July 2025 — SNE x Goodbeat partnership returns for another weekend of dance and connection this July 11th-13th with a wider roster and enhanced offering.
  • October 2025 — SNE prepares for its third ADE showcase alongside ConneQting.The.Dots, continuing to champion underground sounds globally at the annual festival.

The SNE Collective

Today, aside from Rob, our collective spans Toronto, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, London, and beyond — anchored by a core group of DJs, dancers, and community builders who help carry the SNE spirit forward:

  • Oria Belarbi (Amsterdam) – Founder of ConneQting.The.Dots and host of InPlainSight Radio, Oria is a forward-thinking force in Amsterdam’s underground scene. She curates events like From Amsterdam With Love and champions emerging DJs and artists through her mix series and ADE showcases, alongside her essential organisational work for SNE in Amsterdam.
  • Johnny Lopez (Toronto) – Host of Beats United Radio, Johnny curates a rich blend of jazz, soul, disco, Afro, and house on his popular weekly Twitch broadcast, his selections truly exposing a global audience to his deep and diverse sounds. Johnny knows how a foster a vibrant online community and you can also find him playing tunes in around his native Toronto.
  • Chris Wheatley (UK) – A seasoned DJ and respected record dealer, Chris brings over 30 years of knowledge in boogie, disco, and house. He’s played across Europe’s finest vinyl-focused venues including Spiritland, Brilliant Corners, Kasheme (Zurich), Frequence (Paris), and Red Light Radio (Amsterdam). Chris shares his vast vinyl expertise through regular mixes on Twitch and Mixcloud.
  • TT (Los Angeles) – A dancer, connector, and representative of LA’s underground house scene. TT has been instrumental in building SNE from the ground up, hosting our community events, connecting global artists, and delivering just the right balance of energy, insight, and snark to keep things moving every week. Her annual International Women’s Day streams are an essential SNE highlight.

Through the love of underground dance music, friendships have been made, and we continue to create experiences that educate, entertain and ensure culture passes on to the next generation.
