Deep and Soulful Selections for the Heads
What started life as a clandestine Sunday night excursion, just a red light and the deeper end of our record collection, has since grown into a platform of its own. Curated by Rob and some of his closest musical friends, Lost in the Rhythm is built around those unforgettable moments: the beat of the drum, a wild organ workout, or that perfect Rhodes line bubbling over sole choice percussion.
Like many of our movements, it began during lockdown as a midnight Twitch session and has since evolved into a monthly radio show, a series of live showcases, and now an independent record label, Lost in the Rhythm Records.
The radio show launched on the now-defunct Universal Rhythms website, featuring guest mixes from artists including Juliet Mendoza, Mari Ella, Coflo, Portia, and Philippe the Haitian. Today, you’ll find it airing monthly on DanceGruv Radio in the U.S., with a full video edition on YouTube, alongside live recordings from our events and label takeovers.
In October 2023, Lost in the Rhythm made its international debut at Amsterdam Dance Event, as part of the SNE × Conneqting.the.Dots ADE Program. We broadcast a special live show from Feed Amsterdam with Moroccan producer Cee ElAssaad, and hosted our first in-person showcase with DJs Frederick (Astral Arts), Harry De Courcy, and Oria.
That momentum led to the launch of lostintherhythm.com and the vinyl-only imprint, with the first release in a planned series of 4-track EPs from a new wave of producers who are helping shape the future of the deep and soulful sound.
The subsequent launch parties at ADE, Love Vinyl, and BBE in London in late 2024 marked the beginning of a new chapter.
After a brief hiatus (life has a way of keeping us busy), Lost in the Rhythm is returning with fresh energy and deeper intention. In the meantime, explore past episodes and releases, and get ready for what’s coming next shortly.
